Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) approach for Canadians
Young Canadians are more educated than ever and are talented, ambitious and hard-working. But, competition too has never been so fierce. The Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) is the Government of Canada’s commitment to help young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment, get the information and gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to make a successful transition into the labour market. The YESS is an initiative across eleven federal department and agencies of Canada all working towards the same goal – to equip young Canadians with the necessary skills to be successful in the workforce. Skills Link, Career Focus and Summer Work Experience have now joined forces to create a more holistic approach to skill development through the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy initiative. Through the YESS program young Canadians will develop soft-skills and hard-skill
